ءَايَٰتُهَا ٣٧ Verses 37
سُورَةُ ٱلْجَاثِيَةِ Chapter Crouching
رُكُوعَاتُهَا ٤ Rukus 4

ثُمَّ Then
جَعَلْنَٰكَ We put you
عَلَىٰ on
شَرِيعَةٍۢ an ordained way
مِّنَ of
ٱلْأَمْرِ the matter;
فَٱتَّبِعْهَا so follow it
وَلَا and (do) not
تَتَّبِعْ follow
أَهْوَآءَ (the) desires
ٱلَّذِينَ (of) those who
لَا (do) not
يَعْلَمُونَ know.
۝١٨ (18)
ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَٰكَ عَلَىٰ شَرِيعَةٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْأَمْرِ فَٱتَّبِعْهَا وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَآءَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ۝١٨ (18) Then We made thee follow a course in the Affair, so follow it, and follow not the low desires of those who know not.

(Qur'an 45:18)

ءَايَٰتُهَا ١٢٣ Verses 123
سُورَةُ هُودٍ Chapter Hud
رُكُوعَاتُهَا ١٠ Rukus 10

قَالُوا۟ They said,
يَٰشُعَيْبُ "O Shuaib
مَا Not
نَفْقَهُ we understand
كَثِيرًۭا much
مِّمَّا of what
تَقُولُ you say,
وَإِنَّا and indeed, we
لَنَرَىٰكَ surely [we] see you
فِينَا among us
ضَعِيفًۭا weak.
ۖ
وَلَوْلَا And if not
رَهْطُكَ for your family
لَرَجَمْنَٰكَ surely we would have stoned you,
ۖ
وَمَآ and you are not
أَنتَ
عَلَيْنَا against us
بِعَزِيزٍۢ mighty."
۝٩١ (91)
قَالُوا۟ يَٰشُعَيْبُ مَا نَفْقَهُ كَثِيرًۭا مِّمَّا تَقُولُ وَإِنَّا لَنَرَىٰكَ فِينَا ضَعِيفًۭا ۖ وَلَوْلَا رَهْطُكَ لَرَجَمْنَٰكَ ۖ وَمَآ أَنتَ عَلَيْنَا بِعَزِيزٍۢ ۝٩١ (91) They said: O Shu’aib, we understand not much of what thou sayest and surely we see thee to be weak among us. And were it not for thy family, we would surely stone thee, and thou art not mighty against us.

(Qur'an 11:91)

ءَايَٰتُهَا ٢٨٦ Verses 286
سُورَةُ ٱلْبَقَرَةِ Chapter The Cow
رُكُوعَاتُهَا ٤٠ Rukus 40

لَا (Does) not
يُكَلِّفُ burden Allah
ٱللَّهُ
نَفْسًا any soul
إِلَّا except
وُسْعَهَا its capacity,
ۚ
لَهَا for it
مَا what
كَسَبَتْ it earned,
وَعَلَيْهَا and against it
مَا what
ٱكْتَسَبَتْ it earned.
ۗ
رَبَّنَا 'Our Lord
لَا (Do) not
تُؤَاخِذْنَآ take us to task
إِن if
نَّسِينَآ we forget
أَوْ or
أَخْطَأْنَا we err.
ۚ
رَبَّنَا Our Lord
وَلَا And (do) not
تَحْمِلْ lay
عَلَيْنَآ upon us
إِصْرًۭا a burden
كَمَا like that
حَمَلْتَهُۥ (which) You laid [it]
عَلَى on
ٱلَّذِينَ those who
مِن (were) before us.
قَبْلِنَا
ۚ
رَبَّنَا Our Lord
وَلَا [And] (do) not
تُحَمِّلْنَا lay on us
مَا what
لَا not
طَاقَةَ (the) strength
لَنَا we have
بِهِۦ [of it] (to bear).
ۖ
وَٱعْفُ And pardon
عَنَّا [from] us,
وَٱغْفِرْ and forgive
لَنَا [for] us
وَٱرْحَمْنَآ and have mercy on us.
ۚ
أَنتَ You are
مَوْلَىٰنَا our Protector,
فَٱنصُرْنَا so help us
عَلَى against
ٱلْقَوْمِ the people -
ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ [the] disbelievers.
۝٢٨٦ (286)
لَا يُكَلِّفُ ٱللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا ۚ لَهَا مَا كَسَبَتْ وَعَلَيْهَا مَا ٱكْتَسَبَتْ ۗ رَبَّنَا لَا تُؤَاخِذْنَآ إِن نَّسِينَآ أَوْ أَخْطَأْنَا ۚ رَبَّنَا وَلَا تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْنَآ إِصْرًۭا كَمَا حَمَلْتَهُۥ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِنَا ۚ رَبَّنَا وَلَا تُحَمِّلْنَا مَا لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِهِۦ ۖ وَٱعْفُ عَنَّا وَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا وَٱرْحَمْنَآ ۚ أَنتَ مَوْلَىٰنَا فَٱنصُرْنَا عَلَى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ ۝٢٨٦ (286) Allah imposes not on any soul a duty beyond its scope. For it is that which it earns (of good) and against it that which it works (of evil). Our Lord, punish us not if we forget or make a mistake. Our Lord, do not lay on us a burden as Thou didst lay on those before us. Our Lord, impose not on us (afflictions) which we have not the strength to bear. And pardon us! And grant us protection! And have mercy on us! Thou art our Patron, so grant us victory over the disbelieving people.

(Qur'an 2:286)

ءَايَٰتُهَا ٢٨٦ Verses 286
سُورَةُ ٱلْبَقَرَةِ Chapter The Cow
رُكُوعَاتُهَا ٤٠ Rukus 40

شَهْرُ Month
رَمَضَانَ (of) Ramadhaan
ٱلَّذِىٓ (is) that
أُنزِلَ was revealed
فِيهِ therein
ٱلْقُرْءَانُ the Quran,
هُدًۭى a Guidance
لِّلنَّاسِ for mankind
وَبَيِّنَٰتٍۢ and clear proofs
مِّنَ of
ٱلْهُدَىٰ [the] Guidance
وَٱلْفُرْقَانِ and the Criterion.
ۚ
فَمَن So whoever
شَهِدَ witnesses
مِنكُمُ among you
ٱلشَّهْرَ the month,
فَلْيَصُمْهُ then he should fast in it,
ۖ
وَمَن and whoever
كَانَ is
مَرِيضًا sick
أَوْ or
عَلَىٰ on
سَفَرٍۢ a journey
فَعِدَّةٌۭ then prescribed number (should be made up)
مِّنْ from
أَيَّامٍ days
أُخَرَ other.
ۗ
يُرِيدُ Allah intends
ٱللَّهُ
بِكُمُ for you
ٱلْيُسْرَ [the] ease
وَلَا and not
يُرِيدُ intends
بِكُمُ for you
ٱلْعُسْرَ [the] hardship,
وَلِتُكْمِلُوا۟ so that you complete
ٱلْعِدَّةَ the prescribed period
وَلِتُكَبِّرُوا۟ and that you magnify
ٱللَّهَ Allah
عَلَىٰ for
مَا [what]
هَدَىٰكُمْ He guided you
وَلَعَلَّكُمْ so that you may
تَشْكُرُونَ (be) grateful.
۝١٨٥ (185)
شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أُنزِلَ فِيهِ ٱلْقُرْءَانُ هُدًۭى لِّلنَّاسِ وَبَيِّنَٰتٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْهُدَىٰ وَٱلْفُرْقَانِ ۚ فَمَن شَهِدَ مِنكُمُ ٱلشَّهْرَ فَلْيَصُمْهُ ۖ وَمَن كَانَ مَرِيضًا أَوْ عَلَىٰ سَفَرٍۢ فَعِدَّةٌۭ مِّنْ أَيَّامٍ أُخَرَ ۗ يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ بِكُمُ ٱلْيُسْرَ وَلَا يُرِيدُ بِكُمُ ٱلْعُسْرَ وَلِتُكْمِلُوا۟ ٱلْعِدَّةَ وَلِتُكَبِّرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ مَا هَدَىٰكُمْ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ ۝١٨٥ (185) The month of Ramadan is that in which the Qur'an was revealed, a guidance to men and clear proofs of the guidance and the Criterion. So whoever of you is present in the month, he shall fast therein, and whoever is sick or on a journey, (he shall fast) a (like) number of other days. Allah desires ease for you, and He desires not hardship for you, and (He desires) that you should complete the number and that you should exalt the greatness of Allah for having guided you and that you may give thanks.

(Qur'an 2:185)

ءَايَٰتُهَا ٧٨ Verses 78
سُورَةُ ٱلْحَجِّ Chapter The Pilgrimage
رُكُوعَاتُهَا ١٠ Rukus 10

وَجَٰهِدُوا۟ And strive
فِى for
ٱللَّهِ Allah
حَقَّ (with the) striving due (to) Him.
جِهَادِهِۦ
ۚ
هُوَ He
ٱجْتَبَىٰكُمْ (has) chosen you
وَمَا and not
جَعَلَ placed
عَلَيْكُمْ upon you
فِى in
ٱلدِّينِ the religion
مِنْ any
حَرَجٍۢ difficulty.
ۚ
مِّلَّةَ (The) religion
أَبِيكُمْ (of) your father
إِبْرَٰهِيمَ Ibrahim.
ۚ
هُوَ He
سَمَّىٰكُمُ named you
ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ Muslims
مِن before
قَبْلُ
وَفِى and in
هَٰذَا this,
لِيَكُونَ that may be
ٱلرَّسُولُ the Messenger
شَهِيدًا a witness
عَلَيْكُمْ over you
وَتَكُونُوا۟ and you may be
شُهَدَآءَ witnesses
عَلَى on
ٱلنَّاسِ the mankind.
ۚ
فَأَقِيمُوا۟ So establish
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ the prayer
وَءَاتُوا۟ and give
ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ zakah
وَٱعْتَصِمُوا۟ and hold fast
بِٱللَّهِ to Allah.
هُوَ He
مَوْلَىٰكُمْ (is) your Protector -
ۖ
فَنِعْمَ so an Excellent
ٱلْمَوْلَىٰ [the] Protector
وَنِعْمَ and an Excellent
ٱلنَّصِيرُ [the] Helper.
۝٧٨ (78)
وَجَٰهِدُوا۟ فِى ٱللَّهِ حَقَّ جِهَادِهِۦ ۚ هُوَ ٱجْتَبَىٰكُمْ وَمَا جَعَلَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِى ٱلدِّينِ مِنْ حَرَجٍۢ ۚ مِّلَّةَ أَبِيكُمْ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ۚ هُوَ سَمَّىٰكُمُ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ مِن قَبْلُ وَفِى هَٰذَا لِيَكُونَ ٱلرَّسُولُ شَهِيدًا عَلَيْكُمْ وَتَكُونُوا۟ شُهَدَآءَ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ ۚ فَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتُوا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَٱعْتَصِمُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ هُوَ مَوْلَىٰكُمْ ۖ فَنِعْمَ ٱلْمَوْلَىٰ وَنِعْمَ ٱلنَّصِيرُ ۝٧٨ (78) And strive hard for Allah with due striving. He has chosen you and has not laid upon you any hardship in religion -- the faith of your father Abraham. He named you Muslims before and in this, that the Messenger may be a bearer of witness to you, and you may be bearers of witness to the people; so keep up your prayer and pay the poor-rate and hold fast to Allah. He is your Protector; excellent the Protector and excellent the Helper!

(Qur'an 22:78)

ءَايَٰتُهَا ١٧٦ Verses 176
سُورَةُ ٱلنِّسَآءِ Chapter The Women
رُكُوعَاتُهَا ٢٤ Rukus 24

يُرِيدُ Allah wishes
ٱللَّهُ
أَن to
يُخَفِّفَ lighten
عَنكُمْ for you;
ۚ
وَخُلِقَ and was created
ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ the mankind
ضَعِيفًۭا weak.
۝٢٨ (28)
يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ أَن يُخَفِّفَ عَنكُمْ ۚ وَخُلِقَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ ضَعِيفًۭا ۝٢٨ (28) Allah desires to make light your burdens, and man is created weak.

(Qur'an 4:28)

ءَايَٰتُهَا ١٧٦ Verses 176
سُورَةُ ٱلنِّسَآءِ Chapter The Women
رُكُوعَاتُهَا ٢٤ Rukus 24

حُرِّمَتْ Forbidden
عَلَيْكُمْ to you
أُمَّهَٰتُكُمْ (are) your mothers
وَبَنَاتُكُمْ and your daughters
وَأَخَوَٰتُكُمْ and your sisters
وَعَمَّٰتُكُمْ and your father's sisters
وَخَٰلَٰتُكُمْ and your mother's sisters
وَبَنَاتُ and daughters
ٱلْأَخِ (of) brothers,
وَبَنَاتُ and daughters
ٱلْأُخْتِ (of) sisters
وَأُمَّهَٰتُكُمُ and (the) mothers
ٱلَّٰتِىٓ who
أَرْضَعْنَكُمْ nursed you
وَأَخَوَٰتُكُم and your sisters
مِّنَ from
ٱلرَّضَٰعَةِ the nursing
وَأُمَّهَٰتُ and mothers
نِسَآئِكُمْ (of) your wives
وَرَبَٰٓئِبُكُمُ and your step daughters
ٱلَّٰتِى who
فِى (are) in
حُجُورِكُم your guardianship
مِّن of
نِّسَآئِكُمُ your women
ٱلَّٰتِى whom
دَخَلْتُم you had relations
بِهِنَّ with them,
فَإِن but if
لَّمْ not
تَكُونُوا۟ you had
دَخَلْتُم relations
بِهِنَّ with them,
فَلَا then (there is) no
جُنَاحَ sin
عَلَيْكُمْ on you.
وَحَلَٰٓئِلُ And wives
أَبْنَآئِكُمُ of your sons,
ٱلَّذِينَ those who
مِنْ (are) from
أَصْلَٰبِكُمْ your loins
وَأَن and that
تَجْمَعُوا۟ you gather together
بَيْنَ [between]
ٱلْأُخْتَيْنِ two sisters
إِلَّا except
مَا what
قَدْ has passed before.
سَلَفَ
ۗ
إِنَّ Indeed,
ٱللَّهَ Allah
كَانَ is
غَفُورًۭا Oft-Forgiving,
رَّحِيمًۭا Most-Merciful.
۝٢٣ (23)
حُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْكُمْ أُمَّهَٰتُكُمْ وَبَنَاتُكُمْ وَأَخَوَٰتُكُمْ وَعَمَّٰتُكُمْ وَخَٰلَٰتُكُمْ وَبَنَاتُ ٱلْأَخِ وَبَنَاتُ ٱلْأُخْتِ وَأُمَّهَٰتُكُمُ ٱلَّٰتِىٓ أَرْضَعْنَكُمْ وَأَخَوَٰتُكُم مِّنَ ٱلرَّضَٰعَةِ وَأُمَّهَٰتُ نِسَآئِكُمْ وَرَبَٰٓئِبُكُمُ ٱلَّٰتِى فِى حُجُورِكُم مِّن نِّسَآئِكُمُ ٱلَّٰتِى دَخَلْتُم بِهِنَّ فَإِن لَّمْ تَكُونُوا۟ دَخَلْتُم بِهِنَّ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَحَلَٰٓئِلُ أَبْنَآئِكُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِنْ أَصْلَٰبِكُمْ وَأَن تَجْمَعُوا۟ بَيْنَ ٱلْأُخْتَيْنِ إِلَّا مَا قَدْ سَلَفَ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ غَفُورًۭا رَّحِيمًۭا ۝٢٣ (23) Forbidden to you are your mothers, and your daughters, and your sisters, and your paternal aunts, and your maternal aunts, and brother’s daughters and sister’s daughters, and your mothers that have suckled you, and your foster-sisters, and mothers of your wives, and your stepdaughters who are in your guardianship (born) of your wives to whom you have gone in -- but if you have not gone in to them, there is no blame on you -- and the wives of your sons who are of your own loins; and that you should have two sisters together, except what has already passed. Surely Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful.
۞
وَٱلْمُحْصَنَٰتُ And (prohibited are) the ones who are married
مِنَ of
ٱلنِّسَآءِ the women
إِلَّا except
مَا whom
مَلَكَتْ you rightfully possess.
أَيْمَٰنُكُمْ
ۖ
كِتَٰبَ Decree of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
عَلَيْكُمْ upon you.
ۚ
وَأُحِلَّ And are lawful
لَكُم to you
مَّا what
وَرَآءَ (is) beyond
ذَٰلِكُمْ that;
أَن that
تَبْتَغُوا۟ you seek
بِأَمْوَٰلِكُم with your wealth
مُّحْصِنِينَ desiring to be chaste
غَيْرَ not
مُسَٰفِحِينَ (to be) lustful.
ۚ
فَمَا So what
ٱسْتَمْتَعْتُم you benefit[ed]
بِهِۦ of it
مِنْهُنَّ from them,
فَـَٔاتُوهُنَّ so you give them
أُجُورَهُنَّ their bridal due
فَرِيضَةًۭ (as) an obligation.
ۚ
وَلَا And (there is) no
جُنَاحَ sin
عَلَيْكُمْ on you
فِيمَا concerning what
تَرَٰضَيْتُم you mutually agree
بِهِۦ of it
مِنۢ beyond
بَعْدِ
ٱلْفَرِيضَةِ the obligation.
ۚ
إِنَّ Indeed,
ٱللَّهَ Allah
كَانَ is
عَلِيمًا All-Knowing,
حَكِيمًۭا All-Wise.
۝٢٤ (24)
۞ وَٱلْمُحْصَنَٰتُ مِنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ إِلَّا مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَٰنُكُمْ ۖ كِتَٰبَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ ۚ وَأُحِلَّ لَكُم مَّا وَرَآءَ ذَٰلِكُمْ أَن تَبْتَغُوا۟ بِأَمْوَٰلِكُم مُّحْصِنِينَ غَيْرَ مُسَٰفِحِينَ ۚ فَمَا ٱسْتَمْتَعْتُم بِهِۦ مِنْهُنَّ فَـَٔاتُوهُنَّ أُجُورَهُنَّ فَرِيضَةًۭ ۚ وَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِيمَا تَرَٰضَيْتُم بِهِۦ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ٱلْفَرِيضَةِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًۭا ۝٢٤ (24) And all married women except those whom your right hands possess (are forbidden); (this is) Allah’s ordinance to you. And lawful for you are (all women) besides those, provided that you seek (them) with your property, taking (them) in marriage, not committing fornication. Then as to those whom you profit by (by marrying), give them their dowries as appointed. And there is no blame on you about what you mutually agree after what is appointed (of dowry). Surely Allah is every Knowing, Wise.

(Qur'an 4:23-24)

ءَايَٰتُهَا ١٢٠ Verses 120
سُورَةُ ٱلْمَآئِدَةِ Chapter The Table
رُكُوعَاتُهَا ١٦ Rukus 16

حُرِّمَتْ Are made unlawful
عَلَيْكُمُ on you
ٱلْمَيْتَةُ the dead animals,
وَٱلدَّمُ and the blood,
وَلَحْمُ and flesh
ٱلْخِنزِيرِ (of) the swine,
وَمَآ and what
أُهِلَّ has been dedicated
لِغَيْرِ to other than
ٱللَّهِ Allah,
بِهِۦ [on it],
وَٱلْمُنْخَنِقَةُ and that which is strangled (to death),
وَٱلْمَوْقُوذَةُ and that which is hit fatally,
وَٱلْمُتَرَدِّيَةُ and that which has a fatal fall,
وَٱلنَّطِيحَةُ and that which is gored by horns,
وَمَآ and that which
أَكَلَ ate (it)
ٱلسَّبُعُ the wild animal
إِلَّا except
مَا what
ذَكَّيْتُمْ you slaughtered,
وَمَا and what
ذُبِحَ is sacrificed
عَلَى on
ٱلنُّصُبِ the stone altars,
وَأَن and that
تَسْتَقْسِمُوا۟ you seek division
بِٱلْأَزْلَٰمِ by divining arrows -
ۚ
ذَٰلِكُمْ that
فِسْقٌ (is) grave disobedience.
ۗ
ٱلْيَوْمَ This day
يَئِسَ (have) despaired
ٱلَّذِينَ those who
كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieved
مِن of
دِينِكُمْ your religion,
فَلَا so (do) not
تَخْشَوْهُمْ fear them,
وَٱخْشَوْنِ but fear Me.
ۚ
ٱلْيَوْمَ This day
أَكْمَلْتُ I have perfected
لَكُمْ for you
دِينَكُمْ your religion
وَأَتْمَمْتُ and I have completed
عَلَيْكُمْ upon you
نِعْمَتِى My Favor
وَرَضِيتُ and I have approved
لَكُمُ for you
ٱلْإِسْلَٰمَ [the] Islam
دِينًۭا (as) a religion.
ۚ
فَمَنِ But whoever
ٱضْطُرَّ (is) forced
فِى by
مَخْمَصَةٍ hunger
غَيْرَ (and) not
مُتَجَانِفٍۢ inclining
لِّإِثْمٍۢ to sin,
ۙ
فَإِنَّ then indeed,
ٱللَّهَ Allah
غَفُورٌۭ (is) Oft-Forgiving,
رَّحِيمٌۭ Most Merciful.
۝٣ (3)
حُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْمَيْتَةُ وَٱلدَّمُ وَلَحْمُ ٱلْخِنزِيرِ وَمَآ أُهِلَّ لِغَيْرِ ٱللَّهِ بِهِۦ وَٱلْمُنْخَنِقَةُ وَٱلْمَوْقُوذَةُ وَٱلْمُتَرَدِّيَةُ وَٱلنَّطِيحَةُ وَمَآ أَكَلَ ٱلسَّبُعُ إِلَّا مَا ذَكَّيْتُمْ وَمَا ذُبِحَ عَلَى ٱلنُّصُبِ وَأَن تَسْتَقْسِمُوا۟ بِٱلْأَزْلَٰمِ ۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ فِسْقٌ ۗ ٱلْيَوْمَ يَئِسَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن دِينِكُمْ فَلَا تَخْشَوْهُمْ وَٱخْشَوْنِ ۚ ٱلْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِينَكُمْ وَأَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَتِى وَرَضِيتُ لَكُمُ ٱلْإِسْلَٰمَ دِينًۭا ۚ فَمَنِ ٱضْطُرَّ فِى مَخْمَصَةٍ غَيْرَ مُتَجَانِفٍۢ لِّإِثْمٍۢ ۙ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ ۝٣ (3) Forbidden to you is that which dies of itself, and blood, and flesh of swine, and that on which any other name than that of Allah has been invoked, and the strangled (animal), and that beaten to death, and that killed by a fall, and that killed by goring with the horn, and that which wild beasts have eaten -- except what you slaughter; and that which is sacrificed on stones set up (for idols), and that you seek to divide by arrows; that is a transgression. This day have those who disbelieve despaired of your religion, so fear them not, and fear Me. This day have I perfected for you your religion and completed My favour to you and chosen for you Islam as a religion. But whoever is compelled by hunger, not including wilfully to sin, then surely Allah is Forgiving, merciful.
يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ They ask you
مَاذَآ what
أُحِلَّ (is) made lawful
لَهُمْ for them.
ۖ
قُلْ Say,
أُحِلَّ "Are made lawful
لَكُمُ for you
ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتُ the good things
ۙ
وَمَا and what
عَلَّمْتُم you have taught
مِّنَ to (your) hunting animals,
ٱلْجَوَارِحِ
مُكَلِّبِينَ ones who train animals to hunt,
تُعَلِّمُونَهُنَّ you teach them
مِمَّا of what
عَلَّمَكُمُ Allah has taught you.
ٱللَّهُ
ۖ
فَكُلُوا۟ So eat
مِمَّآ of what
أَمْسَكْنَ they catch
عَلَيْكُمْ for you,
وَٱذْكُرُوا۟ but mention
ٱسْمَ (the) name
ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah
عَلَيْهِ on it,
ۖ
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ and fear
ٱللَّهَ Allah.
ۚ
إِنَّ Indeed,
ٱللَّهَ Allah
سَرِيعُ is swift
ٱلْحِسَابِ (in taking) account.
۝٤ (4)
يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ مَاذَآ أُحِلَّ لَهُمْ ۖ قُلْ أُحِلَّ لَكُمُ ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتُ ۙ وَمَا عَلَّمْتُم مِّنَ ٱلْجَوَارِحِ مُكَلِّبِينَ تُعَلِّمُونَهُنَّ مِمَّا عَلَّمَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ ۖ فَكُلُوا۟ مِمَّآ أَمْسَكْنَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَٱذْكُرُوا۟ ٱسْمَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ ۖ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَرِيعُ ٱلْحِسَابِ ۝٤ (4) They ask thee as to what is allowed them. Say: The good things are allowed to you, and what you have taught the beasts and birds of prey, training them to hunt -- you teach them of what Allah has taught you; so eat of that which they catch for you and mention the name of Allah over it; and keep your duty to Allah. Surely Allah is Swift in reckoning.
ٱلْيَوْمَ This day
أُحِلَّ are made lawful
لَكُمُ for you
ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتُ the good things;
ۖ
وَطَعَامُ and (the) food
ٱلَّذِينَ (of) those who
أُوتُوا۟ were given
ٱلْكِتَٰبَ the Book
حِلٌّۭ (is) lawful
لَّكُمْ for you,
وَطَعَامُكُمْ and your food
حِلٌّۭ (is) lawful
لَّهُمْ for them.
ۖ
وَٱلْمُحْصَنَٰتُ And the chaste women
مِنَ from
ٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ the believers
وَٱلْمُحْصَنَٰتُ and the chaste women
مِنَ from
ٱلَّذِينَ those who
أُوتُوا۟ were given
ٱلْكِتَٰبَ the Book
مِن before you,
قَبْلِكُمْ
إِذَآ when
ءَاتَيْتُمُوهُنَّ you have given them
أُجُورَهُنَّ their bridal due,
مُحْصِنِينَ being chaste
غَيْرَ not
مُسَٰفِحِينَ being lewd
وَلَا and not
مُتَّخِذِىٓ ones (who are) taking
أَخْدَانٍۢ secret lovers.
ۗ
وَمَن And whoever
يَكْفُرْ denies
بِٱلْإِيمَٰنِ the faith -
فَقَدْ then surely
حَبِطَ (are) wasted
عَمَلُهُۥ his deeds
وَهُوَ and he,
فِى in
ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ the Hereafter,
مِنَ (will be) among
ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ the losers.
۝٥ (5)
ٱلْيَوْمَ أُحِلَّ لَكُمُ ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتُ ۖ وَطَعَامُ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ حِلٌّۭ لَّكُمْ وَطَعَامُكُمْ حِلٌّۭ لَّهُمْ ۖ وَٱلْمُحْصَنَٰتُ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ وَٱلْمُحْصَنَٰتُ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ إِذَآ ءَاتَيْتُمُوهُنَّ أُجُورَهُنَّ مُحْصِنِينَ غَيْرَ مُسَٰفِحِينَ وَلَا مُتَّخِذِىٓ أَخْدَانٍۢ ۗ وَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِٱلْإِيمَٰنِ فَقَدْ حَبِطَ عَمَلُهُۥ وَهُوَ فِى ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ مِنَ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ ۝٥ (5) This day (all) good things are made lawful for you. And the food of those who have been given the Book is lawful for you and your food is lawful for them. And so are the chaste from among the believing women and the chaste from among those who have been given the Book before you, when you give them their dowries, taking (them) in marriage, not fornicating nor taking them for paramours in secret. And whoever denies faith, his work indeed is vain; and in the Hereafter he is of the losers.

(Qur'an 5:3-5)

ءَايَٰتُهَا ١٢٠ Verses 120
سُورَةُ ٱلْمَآئِدَةِ Chapter The Table
رُكُوعَاتُهَا ١٦ Rukus 16

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا O you
ٱلَّذِينَ who
ءَامَنُوا۟ believe
لَا (Do) not
تَسْـَٔلُوا۟ ask
عَنْ about
أَشْيَآءَ things
إِن if
تُبْدَ made clear
لَكُمْ to you,
تَسُؤْكُمْ it may distress you
وَإِن and if
تَسْـَٔلُوا۟ you ask
عَنْهَا about it
حِينَ when
يُنَزَّلُ the Quran is being revealed
ٱلْقُرْءَانُ
تُبْدَ it would be made clear
لَكُمْ to you.
عَفَا Allah has pardoned
ٱللَّهُ
عَنْهَا [about] it,
ۗ
وَٱللَّهُ and Allah
غَفُورٌ (is) Oft-Forgiving,
حَلِيمٌۭ All-Forbearing.
۝١٠١ (101)
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَسْـَٔلُوا۟ عَنْ أَشْيَآءَ إِن تُبْدَ لَكُمْ تَسُؤْكُمْ وَإِن تَسْـَٔلُوا۟ عَنْهَا حِينَ يُنَزَّلُ ٱلْقُرْءَانُ تُبْدَ لَكُمْ عَفَا ٱللَّهُ عَنْهَا ۗ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌ حَلِيمٌۭ ۝١٠١ (101) O you who believe, as not about things which if made known to you would give you trouble; and if you ask about them when the Qur’an is being revealed, they will be made known to you. Allah pardons this; and Allah is Forgiving, Forbearing.

(Qur'an 5:101)

ءَايَٰتُهَا ١٢٠ Verses 120
سُورَةُ ٱلْمَآئِدَةِ Chapter The Table
رُكُوعَاتُهَا ١٦ Rukus 16

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا O you
ٱلَّذِينَ who
ءَامَنُوٓا۟ believe
أَوْفُوا۟ Fulfil
بِٱلْعُقُودِ the contracts.
ۚ
أُحِلَّتْ Are made lawful
لَكُم for you
بَهِيمَةُ the quadruped
ٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ (of) the grazing livestock
إِلَّا except
مَا what
يُتْلَىٰ is recited
عَلَيْكُمْ on you,
غَيْرَ not
مُحِلِّى being permitted
ٱلصَّيْدِ (to) hunt
وَأَنتُمْ while you
حُرُمٌ (are in) Ihram.
ۗ
إِنَّ Indeed,
ٱللَّهَ Allah
يَحْكُمُ decrees
مَا what
يُرِيدُ He wills.
۝١ (1)
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ أَوْفُوا۟ بِٱلْعُقُودِ ۚ أُحِلَّتْ لَكُم بَهِيمَةُ ٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ إِلَّا مَا يُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ غَيْرَ مُحِلِّى ٱلصَّيْدِ وَأَنتُمْ حُرُمٌ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَحْكُمُ مَا يُرِيدُ ۝١ (1) O you who believe, fulfil the obligations. The cattle quadrupeds are allowed to you except that which is recited to you, not violating the prohibition against game when you are on the pilgrimage. Surely Allah orders what He pleases.

(Qur'an 5:1)

ءَايَٰتُهَا ٢٨٦ Verses 286
سُورَةُ ٱلْبَقَرَةِ Chapter The Cow
رُكُوعَاتُهَا ٤٠ Rukus 40

ٱلَّذِينَ Those who
يَأْكُلُونَ consume
ٱلرِّبَوٰا۟ [the] usury
لَا not
يَقُومُونَ they can stand
إِلَّا except
كَمَا like
يَقُومُ stands
ٱلَّذِى the one who,
يَتَخَبَّطُهُ confounds him
ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ the Shaitaan
مِنَ with
ٱلْمَسِّ his touch.
ۚ
ذَٰلِكَ That
بِأَنَّهُمْ (is) because they
قَالُوٓا۟ say,
إِنَّمَا 'Only
ٱلْبَيْعُ the trade
مِثْلُ (is) like
ٱلرِّبَوٰا۟ [the] usury.'
ۗ
وَأَحَلَّ While Allah has permitted
ٱللَّهُ
ٱلْبَيْعَ [the] trade
وَحَرَّمَ but (has) forbidden
ٱلرِّبَوٰا۟ [the] usury.
ۚ
فَمَن Then whoever -
جَآءَهُۥ comes to him
مَوْعِظَةٌۭ (the) admonition
مِّن from
رَّبِّهِۦ His Lord
فَٱنتَهَىٰ and he refrained,
فَلَهُۥ then for him
مَا what
سَلَفَ (has) passed,
وَأَمْرُهُۥٓ [and] his case
إِلَى (is) with
ٱللَّهِ Allah,
ۖ
وَمَنْ and whoever
عَادَ repeated
فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ then those
أَصْحَٰبُ (are) the companions
ٱلنَّارِ (of) the Fire,
ۖ
هُمْ they
فِيهَا in it
خَٰلِدُونَ will abide forever.
۝٢٧٥ (275)
ٱلَّذِينَ يَأْكُلُونَ ٱلرِّبَوٰا۟ لَا يَقُومُونَ إِلَّا كَمَا يَقُومُ ٱلَّذِى يَتَخَبَّطُهُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ مِنَ ٱلْمَسِّ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَا ٱلْبَيْعُ مِثْلُ ٱلرِّبَوٰا۟ ۗ وَأَحَلَّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْبَيْعَ وَحَرَّمَ ٱلرِّبَوٰا۟ ۚ فَمَن جَآءَهُۥ مَوْعِظَةٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ فَٱنتَهَىٰ فَلَهُۥ مَا سَلَفَ وَأَمْرُهُۥٓ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ ۖ وَمَنْ عَادَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ ۝٢٧٥ (275) Those who swallow usury cannot arise except as he arises whom the devil prostrates by (his) touch. That is because they say, Trading is only like usuary. And Allah has allowed trading and forbidden usury. To whomsoever then the admonition has come from his Lord, and he desists, he shall have what has already passed. And his affair is in the hands of Allah. And whoever returns (to it) -- these are the companions of the Fire: therein they will abide.

(Qur'an 2:275)

ءَايَٰتُهَا ١٧٦ Verses 176
سُورَةُ ٱلنِّسَآءِ Chapter The Women
رُكُوعَاتُهَا ٢٤ Rukus 24

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا O you
ٱلَّذِينَ who
ءَامَنُوا۟ believe[d]
لَا (Do) not
تَأْكُلُوٓا۟ eat
أَمْوَٰلَكُم your wealth
بَيْنَكُم between yourselves
بِٱلْبَٰطِلِ unjustly.
إِلَّآ But
أَن that
تَكُونَ (there) be
تِجَٰرَةً business
عَن on
تَرَاضٍۢ mutual consent
مِّنكُمْ among you.
ۚ
وَلَا And (do) not
تَقْتُلُوٓا۟ kill
أَنفُسَكُمْ yourselves.
ۚ
إِنَّ Indeed,
ٱللَّهَ Allah
كَانَ is
بِكُمْ to you
رَحِيمًۭا Most Merciful.
۝٢٩ (29)
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَأْكُلُوٓا۟ أَمْوَٰلَكُم بَيْنَكُم بِٱلْبَٰطِلِ إِلَّآ أَن تَكُونَ تِجَٰرَةً عَن تَرَاضٍۢ مِّنكُمْ ۚ وَلَا تَقْتُلُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَكُمْ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِكُمْ رَحِيمًۭا ۝٢٩ (29) O you who believe, devour not your property among yourselves by illegal methods except that it be trading by your mutual consent. And kill not your people. Surely Allah is ever Merciful to you.

(Qur'an 4:29)

ءَايَٰتُهَا ٥٤ Verses 54
سُورَةُ سَبَإٍ Chapter Sheba
رُكُوعَاتُهَا ٦ Rukus 6

وَمَآ And not
أَرْسَلْنَٰكَ We have sent you
إِلَّا except
كَآفَّةًۭ (to) all
لِّلنَّاسِ mankind
بَشِيرًۭا (as) a giver of glad tidings
وَنَذِيرًۭا and (as) a warner.
وَلَٰكِنَّ But
أَكْثَرَ most
ٱلنَّاسِ [the] people
لَا (do) not
يَعْلَمُونَ know.
۝٢٨ (28)
وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَٰكَ إِلَّا كَآفَّةًۭ لِّلنَّاسِ بَشِيرًۭا وَنَذِيرًۭا وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ۝٢٨ (28) And We have not sent thee but as a bearer of good news and as a warner to all mankind, but most men know not.

(Qur'an 34:28)

ءَايَٰتُهَا ٢٠٦ Verses 206
سُورَةُ ٱلْأَعْرَافِ Chapter The Heights
رُكُوعَاتُهَا ٢٤ Rukus 24

قُلْ Say,
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا "O mankind
ٱلنَّاسُ
إِنِّى Indeed I am
رَسُولُ (the) Messenger
ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah
إِلَيْكُمْ to you
جَمِيعًا all,
ٱلَّذِى the One
لَهُۥ for Whom
مُلْكُ (is the) dominion
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ (of) the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ and the earth.
ۖ
لَآ (There is) no
إِلَٰهَ god
إِلَّا except
هُوَ Him,
يُحْىِۦ He gives life
وَيُمِيتُ and causes death.
ۖ
فَـَٔامِنُوا۟ So believe
بِٱللَّهِ in Allah
وَرَسُولِهِ and His Messenger,
ٱلنَّبِىِّ the unlettered [the] Prophet
ٱلْأُمِّىِّ
ٱلَّذِى the one who
يُؤْمِنُ believes
بِٱللَّهِ in Allah
وَكَلِمَٰتِهِۦ and His Words,
وَٱتَّبِعُوهُ and follow him
لَعَلَّكُمْ so that you may
تَهْتَدُونَ (be) guided."
۝١٥٨ (158)
قُلْ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ إِنِّى رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ إِلَيْكُمْ جَمِيعًا ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ ۖ فَـَٔامِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ ٱلنَّبِىِّ ٱلْأُمِّىِّ ٱلَّذِى يُؤْمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ وَكَلِمَٰتِهِۦ وَٱتَّبِعُوهُ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ ۝١٥٨ (158) Say: O mankind, surely I am the Messenger of Allah to you all, of Him, Whose is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. There is no god but He; He gives life and causes death. So believe in Allah and His Messenger, the Ummi Prophet who believes in Allah and His words, and follow him so that you may be guided aright.

(Qur'an 7:158)

ءَايَٰتُهَا ٢٨٦ Verses 286
سُورَةُ ٱلْبَقَرَةِ Chapter The Cow
رُكُوعَاتُهَا ٤٠ Rukus 40

كُتِبَ Prescribed
عَلَيْكُمْ for you
إِذَا when
حَضَرَ approaches
أَحَدَكُمُ any of you
ٱلْمَوْتُ [the] death,
إِن if
تَرَكَ he leaves
خَيْرًا good
ٱلْوَصِيَّةُ (making) the will
لِلْوَٰلِدَيْنِ for the parents
وَٱلْأَقْرَبِينَ and the near relatives
بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ with due fairness
ۖ
حَقًّا a duty
عَلَى on
ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ the righteous ones.
۝١٨٠ (180)
كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذَا حَضَرَ أَحَدَكُمُ ٱلْمَوْتُ إِن تَرَكَ خَيْرًا ٱلْوَصِيَّةُ لِلْوَٰلِدَيْنِ وَٱلْأَقْرَبِينَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ ۖ حَقًّا عَلَى ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ ۝١٨٠ (180) It is prescribed for you, when death approaches one of you, if he leaves behind wealth for parents and near relatives, to make a bequest in a kindly manner; it is incumbent upon the dutiful.

(Qur'an 2:180)

ءَايَٰتُهَا ٢٨٦ Verses 286
سُورَةُ ٱلْبَقَرَةِ Chapter The Cow
رُكُوعَاتُهَا ٤٠ Rukus 40

وَٱلَّذِينَ And those who
يُتَوَفَّوْنَ they die
مِنكُمْ among you
وَيَذَرُونَ and leave behind
أَزْوَٰجًۭا (their) wives
وَصِيَّةًۭ (should make) a will
لِّأَزْوَٰجِهِم for their wives,
مَّتَٰعًا provision
إِلَى for
ٱلْحَوْلِ the year
غَيْرَ without
إِخْرَاجٍۢ driving (them) out.
ۚ
فَإِنْ But if
خَرَجْنَ they leave
فَلَا then no
جُنَاحَ blame
عَلَيْكُمْ upon you
فِى in
مَا what
فَعَلْنَ they do
فِىٓ concerning
أَنفُسِهِنَّ themselves
مِن [of]
مَّعْرُوفٍۢ honorably.
ۗ
وَٱللَّهُ And Allah
عَزِيزٌ (is) All-Mighty,
حَكِيمٌۭ All-Wise.
۝٢٤٠ (240)
وَٱلَّذِينَ يُتَوَفَّوْنَ مِنكُمْ وَيَذَرُونَ أَزْوَٰجًۭا وَصِيَّةًۭ لِّأَزْوَٰجِهِم مَّتَٰعًا إِلَى ٱلْحَوْلِ غَيْرَ إِخْرَاجٍۢ ۚ فَإِنْ خَرَجْنَ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِى مَا فَعَلْنَ فِىٓ أَنفُسِهِنَّ مِن مَّعْرُوفٍۢ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌۭ ۝٢٤٠ (240) And those of you who die and leave wives behind, should make a bequest in favour of their wives of maintenance for a year without turning (them) out. Then if they themselves go away, there is no blame on you for what they do of lawful deeds concerning themselves. And Allah is Mighty, Wise.

(Qur'an 2:240)

ءَايَٰتُهَا ٢٨٦ Verses 286
سُورَةُ ٱلْبَقَرَةِ Chapter The Cow
رُكُوعَاتُهَا ٤٠ Rukus 40

وَٱلَّذِينَ And those who
يُتَوَفَّوْنَ pass away
مِنكُمْ among you
وَيَذَرُونَ and leave behind
أَزْوَٰجًۭا wives,
يَتَرَبَّصْنَ (the widows) should wait for themselves
بِأَنفُسِهِنَّ
أَرْبَعَةَ (for) four
أَشْهُرٍۢ months
وَعَشْرًۭا and ten (days).
ۖ
فَإِذَا Then when
بَلَغْنَ they reach
أَجَلَهُنَّ their (specified) term,
فَلَا then (there is) no
جُنَاحَ blame
عَلَيْكُمْ upon you
فِيمَا for what
فَعَلْنَ they do
فِىٓ concerning themselves
أَنفُسِهِنَّ
بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ in a fair manner.
ۗ
وَٱللَّهُ And Allah
بِمَا of what
تَعْمَلُونَ you do
خَبِيرٌۭ (is) All-Aware.
۝٢٣٤ (234)
وَٱلَّذِينَ يُتَوَفَّوْنَ مِنكُمْ وَيَذَرُونَ أَزْوَٰجًۭا يَتَرَبَّصْنَ بِأَنفُسِهِنَّ أَرْبَعَةَ أَشْهُرٍۢ وَعَشْرًۭا ۖ فَإِذَا بَلَغْنَ أَجَلَهُنَّ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِيمَا فَعَلْنَ فِىٓ أَنفُسِهِنَّ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌۭ ۝٢٣٤ (234) And (as for) those of you who die and leave wives behind, such women should keep themselves in waiting for four months and ten days; when they reach their term, there is no blame on you for what they do for themselves in a lawful manner. And Allah is Aware of what you do.

(Qur'an 2:234)

ءَايَٰتُهَا ١٧٦ Verses 176
سُورَةُ ٱلنِّسَآءِ Chapter The Women
رُكُوعَاتُهَا ٢٤ Rukus 24

وَٱلَّٰتِى And those who
يَأْتِينَ commit
ٱلْفَٰحِشَةَ [the] immorality
مِن from
نِّسَآئِكُمْ your women
فَٱسْتَشْهِدُوا۟ then call to witness
عَلَيْهِنَّ against them
أَرْبَعَةًۭ four
مِّنكُمْ among you.
ۖ
فَإِن And if
شَهِدُوا۟ they testify
فَأَمْسِكُوهُنَّ then confine them
فِى in
ٱلْبُيُوتِ their houses
حَتَّىٰ until
يَتَوَفَّىٰهُنَّ comes to them
ٱلْمَوْتُ [the] death
أَوْ or
يَجْعَلَ Allah makes
ٱللَّهُ
لَهُنَّ for them
سَبِيلًۭا a way.
۝١٥ (15)
وَٱلَّٰتِى يَأْتِينَ ٱلْفَٰحِشَةَ مِن نِّسَآئِكُمْ فَٱسْتَشْهِدُوا۟ عَلَيْهِنَّ أَرْبَعَةًۭ مِّنكُمْ ۖ فَإِن شَهِدُوا۟ فَأَمْسِكُوهُنَّ فِى ٱلْبُيُوتِ حَتَّىٰ يَتَوَفَّىٰهُنَّ ٱلْمَوْتُ أَوْ يَجْعَلَ ٱللَّهُ لَهُنَّ سَبِيلًۭا ۝١٥ (15) And as for those of your women who are guilty of an indecency, call to witness against them four (witnesses) from among you; so if they bear witness, confine them to the houses until death takes them away or Allah opens a way for them.
وَٱلَّذَانِ And the two who
يَأْتِيَٰنِهَا commit it
مِنكُمْ among you,
فَـَٔاذُوهُمَا then punish both of them.
ۖ
فَإِن But if
تَابَا they repent
وَأَصْلَحَا and correct themselves,
فَأَعْرِضُوا۟ then turn away
عَنْهُمَآ from both of them.
ۗ
إِنَّ Indeed,
ٱللَّهَ Allah
كَانَ is
تَوَّابًۭا Oft-forgiving,
رَّحِيمًا Most-Merciful.
۝١٦ (16)
وَٱلَّذَانِ يَأْتِيَٰنِهَا مِنكُمْ فَـَٔاذُوهُمَا ۖ فَإِن تَابَا وَأَصْلَحَا فَأَعْرِضُوا۟ عَنْهُمَآ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ تَوَّابًۭا رَّحِيمًا ۝١٦ (16) And as for the two of you who are guilty of it, give them both a slight punishment; then if they repent and amend, turn aside from them. Surely Allah is ever Oft-returning (to mercy), the Merciful.

(Qur'an 4:15-16)

ءَايَٰتُهَا ٢٨٦ Verses 286
سُورَةُ ٱلْبَقَرَةِ Chapter The Cow
رُكُوعَاتُهَا ٤٠ Rukus 40

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا O you
ٱلَّذِينَ who
ءَامَنُوا۟ believe[d]
كُتِبَ Is prescribed
عَلَيْكُمُ for you
ٱلصِّيَامُ [the] fasting
كَمَا as
كُتِبَ was prescribed
عَلَى to
ٱلَّذِينَ those
مِن before you,
قَبْلِكُمْ
لَعَلَّكُمْ so that you may
تَتَّقُونَ (become) righteous.
۝١٨٣ (183)
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلصِّيَامُ كَمَا كُتِبَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ ۝١٨٣ (183) O you who believe, fasting is prescribed for you, as it was prescribed for those before you, so that you may guard against evil.

(Qur'an 2:183)

ءَايَٰتُهَا ١٢٩ Verses 129
سُورَةُ ٱلتَّوْبَةِ Chapter The Repentance
رُكُوعَاتُهَا ١٦ Rukus 16

خُذْ Take
مِنْ from
أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ their wealth
صَدَقَةًۭ a charity,
تُطَهِّرُهُمْ purifying them
وَتُزَكِّيهِم and cause them increase
بِهَا by it,
وَصَلِّ and bless
عَلَيْهِمْ [upon] them.
ۖ
إِنَّ Indeed,
صَلَوٰتَكَ your invocations
سَكَنٌۭ (are a) reassurance
لَّهُمْ for them.
ۗ
وَٱللَّهُ And Allah
سَمِيعٌ (is) All-Hearer,
عَلِيمٌ All-Knower.
۝١٠٣ (103)
خُذْ مِنْ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ صَدَقَةًۭ تُطَهِّرُهُمْ وَتُزَكِّيهِم بِهَا وَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِمْ ۖ إِنَّ صَلَوٰتَكَ سَكَنٌۭ لَّهُمْ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ ۝١٠٣ (103) Take alms out of their property -- thou wouldst cleanse them and purify them thereby -- and pray for them. Surely thy prayer is a relief to them. And Allah is Hearing, Knowing.

(Qur'an 9:103)

ءَايَٰتُهَا ١٢٠ Verses 120
سُورَةُ ٱلْمَآئِدَةِ Chapter The Table
رُكُوعَاتُهَا ١٦ Rukus 16

إِنَّمَا Only
يُرِيدُ the Shaitaan intends
ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ
أَن to
يُوقِعَ cause
بَيْنَكُمُ between you
ٱلْعَدَٰوَةَ [the] enmity
وَٱلْبَغْضَآءَ and [the] hatred
فِى through
ٱلْخَمْرِ intoxicants
وَٱلْمَيْسِرِ and gambling,
وَيَصُدَّكُمْ and hinders you
عَن from
ذِكْرِ (the) remembrance
ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah
وَعَنِ and from
ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ the prayer.
ۖ
فَهَلْ So will you be
أَنتُم
مُّنتَهُونَ the ones who abstain?
۝٩١ (91)
إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ أَن يُوقِعَ بَيْنَكُمُ ٱلْعَدَٰوَةَ وَٱلْبَغْضَآءَ فِى ٱلْخَمْرِ وَٱلْمَيْسِرِ وَيَصُدَّكُمْ عَن ذِكْرِ ٱللَّهِ وَعَنِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ ۖ فَهَلْ أَنتُم مُّنتَهُونَ ۝٩١ (91) The devil desires only to create enmity and hatred among you by means of intoxicants and games of chance, and to keep you back from the remembrance of Allah and from prayer. Will you then keep back?

(Qur'an 5:91)

ءَايَٰتُهَا ١٢٨ Verses 128
سُورَةُ ٱلنَّحْلِ Chapter The Bee
رُكُوعَاتُهَا ١٦ Rukus 16

۞
إِنَّ Indeed,
ٱللَّهَ Allah
يَأْمُرُ commands
بِٱلْعَدْلِ justice
وَٱلْإِحْسَٰنِ and the good,
وَإِيتَآئِ and giving
ذِى (to) relatives,
ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ
وَيَنْهَىٰ and forbids
عَنِ [from]
ٱلْفَحْشَآءِ the immorality
وَٱلْمُنكَرِ and the bad
وَٱلْبَغْىِ and the oppression.
ۚ
يَعِظُكُمْ He admonishes you
لَعَلَّكُمْ so that you may
تَذَكَّرُونَ take heed.
۝٩٠ (90)
۞ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَأْمُرُ بِٱلْعَدْلِ وَٱلْإِحْسَٰنِ وَإِيتَآئِ ذِى ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ وَيَنْهَىٰ عَنِ ٱلْفَحْشَآءِ وَٱلْمُنكَرِ وَٱلْبَغْىِ ۚ يَعِظُكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ ۝٩٠ (90) Surely Allah enjoins justice and the doing of good (to others) and the giving to the kindred, and He forbids indecency and evil and rebellion. He admonishes you that you may be mindful.

(Qur'an 16:90)

ءَايَٰتُهَا ١٧٦ Verses 176
سُورَةُ ٱلنِّسَآءِ Chapter The Women
رُكُوعَاتُهَا ٢٤ Rukus 24

۞
إِنَّ Indeed,
ٱللَّهَ Allah orders you
يَأْمُرُكُمْ
أَن to
تُؤَدُّوا۟ render
ٱلْأَمَٰنَٰتِ the trusts
إِلَىٰٓ to
أَهْلِهَا their owners,
وَإِذَا and when
حَكَمْتُم you judge
بَيْنَ between
ٱلنَّاسِ the people
أَن to
تَحْكُمُوا۟ judge
بِٱلْعَدْلِ with justice.
ۚ
إِنَّ Indeed,
ٱللَّهَ Allah
نِعِمَّا excellently
يَعِظُكُم advises you
بِهِۦٓ with it.
ۗ
إِنَّ Indeed,
ٱللَّهَ Allah
كَانَ is
سَمِيعًۢا All-Hearing,
بَصِيرًۭا All-Seeing.
۝٥٨ (58)
۞ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَأْمُرُكُمْ أَن تُؤَدُّوا۟ ٱلْأَمَٰنَٰتِ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهَا وَإِذَا حَكَمْتُم بَيْنَ ٱلنَّاسِ أَن تَحْكُمُوا۟ بِٱلْعَدْلِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ نِعِمَّا يَعِظُكُم بِهِۦٓ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ سَمِيعًۢا بَصِيرًۭا ۝٥٨ (58) Surely Allah commands you to make over trusts to those worthy of them, and that when you judge between people, you judge with justice. Surely Allah admonishes you with what is excellent. Surely Ally is ever Hearing, Seeing.

(Qur'an 4:58)

ءَايَٰتُهَا ١٢٠ Verses 120
سُورَةُ ٱلْمَآئِدَةِ Chapter The Table
رُكُوعَاتُهَا ١٦ Rukus 16

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا O you
ٱلَّذِينَ who
ءَامَنُوا۟ believe
كُونُوا۟ Be
قَوَّٰمِينَ steadfast
لِلَّهِ for Allah
شُهَدَآءَ (as) witnesses
بِٱلْقِسْطِ in justice,
ۖ
وَلَا and let not prevent you
يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ
شَنَـَٔانُ hatred
قَوْمٍ (of) a people
عَلَىٰٓ [upon]
أَلَّا that not
تَعْدِلُوا۟ you do justice.
ۚ
ٱعْدِلُوا۟ Be just
هُوَ it
أَقْرَبُ (is) nearer
لِلتَّقْوَىٰ to [the] piety.
ۖ
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ And fear
ٱللَّهَ Allah;
ۚ
إِنَّ indeed,
ٱللَّهَ Allah
خَبِيرٌۢ (is) All-Aware
بِمَا of what
تَعْمَلُونَ you do.
۝٨ (8)
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ كُونُوا۟ قَوَّٰمِينَ لِلَّهِ شُهَدَآءَ بِٱلْقِسْطِ ۖ وَلَا يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شَنَـَٔانُ قَوْمٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَلَّا تَعْدِلُوا۟ ۚ ٱعْدِلُوا۟ هُوَ أَقْرَبُ لِلتَّقْوَىٰ ۖ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ خَبِيرٌۢ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ ۝٨ (8) O you who believe, be upright for Allah, bearers of witness with justice; and let not hatred of a people incite you not to act equitably. Be just; that is nearer to observance of duty. And keep your duty to Allah. Surely Allah is Aware of what you do.

(Qur'an 5:8)

ءَايَٰتُهَا ٦٢ Verses 62
سُورَةُ ٱلنَّجْمِ Chapter The Star
رُكُوعَاتُهَا ٣ Rukus 3

وَمَا And not
يَنطِقُ he speaks
عَنِ from
ٱلْهَوَىٰٓ the desire.
۝٣ (3)
وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ ٱلْهَوَىٰٓ ۝٣ (3) Nor does he speak out of desire.
إِنْ Not
هُوَ it
إِلَّا (is) except
وَحْىٌۭ a revelation
يُوحَىٰ revealed,
۝٤ (4)
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحْىٌۭ يُوحَىٰ ۝٤ (4) It is naught but revelation that is revealed --

(Qur'an 53:3-4)

ءَايَٰتُهَا ١٢٨ Verses 128
سُورَةُ ٱلنَّحْلِ Chapter The Bee
رُكُوعَاتُهَا ١٦ Rukus 16

بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ With the clear proofs
وَٱلزُّبُرِ and the Books.
ۗ
وَأَنزَلْنَآ And We sent down
إِلَيْكَ to you
ٱلذِّكْرَ the Remembrance,
لِتُبَيِّنَ that you may make clear
لِلنَّاسِ to the mankind,
مَا what
نُزِّلَ has been sent down
إِلَيْهِمْ to them
وَلَعَلَّهُمْ and that they may
يَتَفَكَّرُونَ reflect.
۝٤٤ (44)
بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ وَٱلزُّبُرِ ۗ وَأَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكَ ٱلذِّكْرَ لِتُبَيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ مَا نُزِّلَ إِلَيْهِمْ وَلَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ ۝٤٤ (44) With clear arguments and Scriptures. And We have revealed to thee the Reminder that thou mayest make clear to men that which has been revealed to them, and that haply they may reflect.

(Qur'an 16:44)

ءَايَٰتُهَا ٢٤ Verses 24
سُورَةُ ٱلْحَشْرِ Chapter The Exile
رُكُوعَاتُهَا ٣ Rukus 3

مَّآ What
أَفَآءَ Allah restored
ٱللَّهُ
عَلَىٰ to
رَسُولِهِۦ His Messenger
مِنْ from
أَهْلِ (the) people
ٱلْقُرَىٰ (of) the towns,
فَلِلَّهِ (it is) for Allah
وَلِلرَّسُولِ and His Messenger
وَلِذِى and for the kindred
ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ
وَٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ and the orphans
وَٱلْمَسَٰكِينِ and the needy
وَٱبْنِ and the wayfarer,
ٱلسَّبِيلِ
كَىْ that
لَا not
يَكُونَ it becomes
دُولَةًۢ a (perpetual) circulation
بَيْنَ between
ٱلْأَغْنِيَآءِ the rich
مِنكُمْ among you.
ۚ
وَمَآ And whatever
ءَاتَىٰكُمُ gives you
ٱلرَّسُولُ the Messenger,
فَخُذُوهُ take it
وَمَا and whatever
نَهَىٰكُمْ he forbids you
عَنْهُ from it,
فَٱنتَهُوا۟ refrain.
ۚ
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ And fear
ٱللَّهَ Allah.
ۖ
إِنَّ Indeed,
ٱللَّهَ Allah
شَدِيدُ (is) severe
ٱلْعِقَابِ (in) penalty.
۝٧ (7)
مَّآ أَفَآءَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ رَسُولِهِۦ مِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْقُرَىٰ فَلِلَّهِ وَلِلرَّسُولِ وَلِذِى ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ وَٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ وَٱلْمَسَٰكِينِ وَٱبْنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ كَىْ لَا يَكُونَ دُولَةًۢ بَيْنَ ٱلْأَغْنِيَآءِ مِنكُمْ ۚ وَمَآ ءَاتَىٰكُمُ ٱلرَّسُولُ فَخُذُوهُ وَمَا نَهَىٰكُمْ عَنْهُ فَٱنتَهُوا۟ ۚ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ ۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ ۝٧ (7) Whatever Allah restored to His Messenger from the people of the towns, it is for Allah and for the Messenger, and for the near of kin and the orphans and the needy and the wayfarer, so that it be not taken by turns by the rich among you. And whatever the Messenger gives you, accept it, and whatever he forbids you, abstain (therefrom); and keep your duty to Allah. Surely Allah is Severe in retribution.
